1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Nuovabot, operated by MediaNuova, uses cookies and similar technologies on nuovabot.com and in the Nuovabot dashboard. It applies to Customers (businesses) who use the Nuovabot platform.

We keep our cookie use to a minimum. Nuovabot uses only the cookies strictly necessary to operate the service - no advertising, no tracking, no analytics cookies.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your session, such as whether you are logged in.

Nuovabot uses cookies only in the Customer dashboard (nuovabot.com). The chatbot widget embedded on Customer websites does not set cookies on End Users' browsers.

3. Cookies We Use

We use exactly one cookie:

Authentication session cookie

  • Set by: Supabase (our authentication provider)
  • Purpose: Keeps you logged in to the Nuovabot dashboard during your session
  • Type: Strictly necessary - without this cookie, login is not possible
  • Duration: Persistent; expires after 400 days or when you log out
  • Can it be disabled? No - this cookie is required for the service to function

4. Cookies We Do Not Use

Nuovabot does not use any of the following:

  • Advertising or retargeting cookies
  • Third-party analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Performance or behavioural profiling cookies

We do not share any cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. The Chatbot Widget

When a Nuovabot chatbot is embedded on a Customer's website via the JavaScript widget, it renders inside a Shadow DOM and does not set any cookies on the End User's browser. The widget communicates with Nuovabot's servers over HTTPS, but no persistent identifiers are stored on the End User's device.

If you are a business that has embedded a Nuovabot chatbot on your website, you are responsible for disclosing the chatbot's presence and data practices to your own users in your privacy policy. Please refer to the Nuovabot Data Processing Agreement for details.

6. Managing Cookies

Because the only cookie Nuovabot sets is strictly necessary for login, cookie consent banners are not required for this cookie under EU law (ePrivacy Directive, Art. 5(3)).

If you wish to delete or block the session cookie, you can do so through your browser settings. Please note that doing so will log you out of the Nuovabot dashboard and the service will not function without it.

Common browser settings for managing cookies:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions → Cookies and site data

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we change how cookies are used on the platform. If we introduce any non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and implement a consent mechanism before doing so.

Material changes will be communicated to Customers via email at least 30 days before they take effect.
